Connecticut BBB President, Paulette Scarpetti, says the Student Ethics Scholarship Award identifies secondary school students who not only possess exemplary moral ethics, but also understand how ethical standards come into play in the marketplace.
“The pillars of leadership and community involvement also play an important role in the competition and marketplace. These form a foundation upon which successful and trustworthy business practices are built.”
The winner will receive $2,500 to help pay for school-related expenses such as tuition, books, room and board. Applicants must be secondary students currently in their junior year, and planning to attend an accredited college or university in the United States.
The winning essay will be selected by a panel of independent judges and the award presented at the Connecticut Better Business Bureau Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet this fall.
Details are available in the “Announcements” section of the CT BBB home page, http://www.ct.bbb.org. The deadline for applications is Friday, June 24, 2011.
