Kentucky State Poetry Society Contests 2011

The KSPS adult poetry contest is an open contest with the exception of the Chaffin/Kash Award category, which is reserved for KSPS members. With the exception of the Grand Prix and the Chaffin/Kash Award categories, other contest categories are, depending upon sponsors, subject to change each year. KSPS members also enjoy a discounted entry fee rate for all categories (other than the Grand Prix and the Chaffin/Kash Award). The contest brochure is made available in the Spring of each year with a deadline of June 30th.

Members receive the Contest Brochure in the Spring edition of the KSPS newsletter. KSPS members receive a winners list with their Fall newsletter; all others may obtain winners list from either the website or by request via postal carrier (requires a self-addressed, stamped envelope to receive by mail).

Awards and Winning Poems :

Awards for winning poems are presented at the Annual Awards Banquet in October of each year. Those not present receive their awards by mail.

First place poems are published annually in the Prize Poems Issue of Pegasus, the KSPS journal. Copies may be purchased by sending $3.50 per copy (KSPS members receive one copy of Pegasus at no charge). Mail request and payment** to: Miriam Woolfolk, Pegasus Editor, 101 S.
